About

Welcome to Island Birds. This site focusses on the conservation and ecology of island birds through the work of the Wildlife Lab of Dr Rob Davis.  Island birds are the most imperilled of all birds due to threats including invasive species and sea level rise. Recent work of our group has focussed on the endangered sub-species of the Micronesian Megapode Megapodius senex laperouse in the Republic of Palau, historical trends in occupancy for the bids of the Federated States of Micronesia and work on the threatened Abrolhos Painted Button-quail Turnix various scintillans in Western Australia.
